Recognizing, identifying, and understanding emotions are critical skills in building positive and resilient workplace cultures. Drawing on research from cognitive science and organizational psychology, participants will identify tools and practices to cultivate emotional resilience in themselves and others.

Outcomes

  • Understand how perceptions, identity, and environment play a role in the cycle of emotions.

  • Identify concrete tools to implement in our day-to-day interactions to promote self-resilience.

  • Identify opportunities within our workplace environments to promote cultures and build relationships which foster resilience.

Everyone has needed help at some point in their work, but have we always asked for it when we needed it? Learning how, when, and whom to ask for help are important personal skills; however, developing a culture where everyone feels that they will receive timely, effective, and supportive assistance is critical to any organization. 

Outcomes

  • Examine the barriers that exist in asking for help.

  • Explore the characteristics of relations that influence help-seeking behavior.

  • Identify actionable practices that promote a culture of support.

Change is constant and ever-present. How well we manage and navigate change in our workplaces is a cycle influenced by and continuously informing the quality of relationships within our community. Understanding how we respond to change, the assumptions we hold, and how our beliefs surrounding change are developed allow us to more constructively navigate change at all levels.

Outcomes

  • Examine the research on how humans respond to change.

  • Identify opportunities for empowerment within change processes.

  • Implement research & evidence-based strategies that can be used to navigate change.

  • Identify support systems within the our communities that can help navigate and  manage the change process.
